INTRODUCING DGAF!!
This completely new shade and a few, for now, mysterious ones will be launching for the fall. If this “sneak peek” having such a provocative name in an ELECTRIFYING blue doesn’t have you interested you need to get your pulse checked! I for one can’t hardly wait to see what is in store for the future. But for now this and all the other fantastic shades will be in stock and available sometime in September.

Product Review:

MAC has become a MUST for all makeup lovers, artists, and those who set a brand establishment as a high priority. Venturing to my local MAC store and hunting for my shade feels like stalking a gazelle, you see what appears to be it then turn it over and the “wah wah” trumpets play. The times I do find it I feel as though I need to throw my arms up in the victory pose, but then everyone would stare at me wondering, "Why is she standing in the victory pose?" I don’t blame anyone at the specific store only because on the retail side of it would you rather see an empty shelf or a full one?  Unfortunately more times than not I end up going home without this fantastic powder in hand. But no worries…INTERNET TO THE RESCUE! Since MAC does have their entire lineup up for sale online worrying about availability is never a concern (unless it is a limited run).

Currently I am using the N3 shade which was color matched closest to me and still is a tad dark but is a worthy buy. Even with this said, it is my go to pressed powder since it works as a foundation.  And that’s what keeps me buying this time and time again, IT WORKS. The full coverage flawless porcelain look I end up with, using a Royal & Langnickle foundation brush, is completely smooth and wears well all day when applied over a good primer.

Using this powder most of the year is not an issue. During the summer I apply this last over a primer and liquid foundation. There have been few if any drawbacks to this product. And it is with my skin and not the powder directly. But when I wear it solo like most makeup it will smear in humid and hot conditions, for me it was around my nose which by the end of the day made it feel extremely cake like. Regardless this is the one that goes in my bag and is on my shelf at all times.

Product Review:

Like most women I was looking for anti-aging/anti-wrinkle anything when it came to preventative skin care products. Unfortunately most “cosmeceutical” companies make claims that don’t and could never be proven out of a laboratory setting on a real person’s face. Sad news is that most people are duped by the mythical phrases like “anti- aging serum” or “skin renewal formula”. Because these products are not regulated by anyone they can make claims that are so unbelievable you would have better luck of hitting a multi-million lottery jackpot than these products actually stopping the aging process. Here’s some good news, not all companies just spew out products by the dozens and make claims with million dollar T.V. and magazine ads.

The Ultimate Lift Eye Gel states it can reduce appearance of puffiness and wrinkles. Guess what? IT DOES! I am in total agreement with the claims made on this little jar of miracles. For those who suffer from seasonal allergies you may benefit greatly like I have from this. It reduces the puffiness without adding any irritation to your eyes. The fine lines that may form crow’s feet down the line appear diminished in appearance after using this gel nightly.  The gel does not have any noticeable smell and it simply feels like a gel. During the summer months put the jar in the refrigerator and it makes the nightly application that much more enjoyable and relaxing for your tired eyes.

After using this nightly for almost a year I am a firm believer in Ole Henriksen and I can’t wait to get more of their skin care products on my shelf!

NYX Eye Shadow Base

Product Review:

Being a true NYX fan and having many of their eye shadows, lipsticks, and lip glosses got me really excited to see this eye shadow base. Of course NYX being known for their affordable makeup can make you wonder if inexpensive means cheap. In my opinion, not at all. The price points are set so even the budget minded, when they find a product that doesn’t work for them, don’t feel that buyer’s remorse and of course it’s not a purchase that is going to break the bank.

NYX claims the eye shadow base will give a hundred times more vivid color which I can agree with for most eye shadow shades. I noticed when applying the texture was odd and reminded me of butter or margarine. It was oily to the touch and then as it was rubbed onto my eyelid it felt slightly less oily and creamier. If you have dry skin this may be up your alley and worth trying, but those with combination to oily skin be warned and try something different. Unfortunately for me this product did not do its intended job. Regardless the amount of base I used it was messy for me on fresh clean eyelids. A few minutes after application it started to crease without any eye shadow! This has never happened to me before with any other eye shadow base. As I tried to give it a chance I was checking all day long the condition of my eye shadow and only hours, three to four at most, my eyelids were full of creases or the shadow was smearing all over. It actually made my eye shadow look worse.

Needless to say I was bummed out by this experience and this is not going back in my closet.
